Bowls at Lord’s Cricket Ground

In partnership with Open Age, MCC Community is inviting local residents (aged 50+)  to take part in a variety of activities aimed to support physical and mental wellbeing at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

They also aim to support those who may be socially isolated. Activities including bowls, chess and backgammon will be held in the famous Cricket Academy.

Guests will also have the opportunity to make new friends over tea and coffee.

Taster sessions will be held on Friday 9 and Monday 12 March from 11am to noon. Guest can either call me or Open Age via either of the following numbers.

Carers Network is recruiting a new Information, Advice and Guidance Officer

Information, Advice and Guidance Oficer

£24,000 per annum (37.5 hours per week) 

7% pension, interest free travel loan available 

We are seeking an excellent candidate for the role of Information, Advice and Guidance Officer to be a part of our recently formed Information, Advice and Guidance team.  

Three out of five people become an unpaid carer at some point in their lives, looking after a family member or friend who couldn’t manage without them because of an illness, disability, mental health problem or an addiction. Most do so without help or recognition. 

The successful candidate will support this hidden army by providing a confidential listening ear and personalised information and advice on a range of subjects including carer rights and entitlements, basic welfare benefits and other financial information.  The post-holder will also help to run the daily telephone advice line, facilitate monthly support groups and carry out targeted outreach work to raise awareness of Carers Network and to increase identification of carers. 

The IAG team is based in our Westminster office and this post will focus on Westminster with significant work remotely in the community.  The post-holder will also be expected to work in the boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea from time to time as required. 

The ability to speak a community language would be advantageous.
