The Care Act is set to become law in April 2015 and the Government is consulting on the detailed regulation and guidance over the summer. Carers Network has responded – you can see our response below.
Carers Network broadly welcomes these regulations as they set out new recognition of the importance of carers and their entitlement to carer assessments and to be involved in support plans. The Act also recognises the need for the services that support carers to continue in their caring role when they are willing and able to do so.
Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham local authorities are currently considering how they ensure that they meet all the provisions of the Act and Carers Network are working closely with them to help ensure that carers benefit from the changes.
