Over 3,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year and is the most common cancer in women aged 35 and under.

The most effective way to reduce risk of cervical cancer is to attend routine cervical screening appointments.

Uptake of cervical screening is at its lowest nationally in the last twenty years, particularly in Hammersmith and Fulham, with recent data suggesting that just over half of eligible women attended their GP Practice to have a smear test

GP Practices in H&F have launched a new cervical cancer screening service. Smear tests can be difficult to arrange during the working day. The new service enables women to book their appointment by email at a time and place that is convenient, such as evenings and weekends. Practices across the borough are offering the new service. To book an appointment please email hf.gpfed@nhs.net

They will respond to your email within one working day.
