Employment matters

According to Carers Trust, there are currently over three million working carers in the UK.  Many more carers would like to work but find it hard to see how they could reconcile work with their caring role.

Any of the support available from Carers Network to carers can be used to help you balance work with caring e.g. services to help you take a break. So a Carers Assessment is an important step in balancing work and caring.

Volunteer work placements

Carers Network can offer carer volunteer work placements of up to 6 months to help increase chances of employment. We offer work placements in the following areas:

  • Leaflet distributing
  • Event organising
  • Telephoning carers
  • Fundraising
  • Peer mentoring
