Carers Network is recruiting a new Information, Advice and Guidance Officer

Information, Advice and Guidance Oficer

£24,000 per annum (37.5 hours per week)

7% pension, interest free travel loan available

We are seeking an excellent candidate for the role of Information, Advice and Guidance Officer to be a part of our recently formed Information, Advice and Guidance team.

Three out of five people become an unpaid carer at some point in their lives, looking after a family member or friend who couldn’t manage without them because of an illness, disability, mental health problem or an addiction. Most do so without help or recognition.

The successful candidate will support this hidden army by providing a confidential listening ear and personalised information and advice on a range of subjects including carer rights and entitlements, basic welfare benefits and other financial information.  The post-holder will also help to run the daily telephone advice line, facilitate monthly support groups and carry out targeted outreach work to raise awareness of Carers Network and to increase identification of carers.

The IAG team is based in our Westminster office and this post will focus on Westminster with significant work remotely in the community.  The post-holder will also be expected to work in the boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea from time to time as required.

The ability to speak a community language would be advantageous.

Carers Network is a charity. We are an equal opportunity employer and service provider that recognises and celebrates diversity. We hold quality marks from PQASSO and Carers Trust, we are also a London Living Wage employer.

To apply for this role please complete the application form and return it together with a supporting statement which addresses the requirements outlined in the person specification to info@carers-network.org.uk

Closing date for all applications is 23rd February at 5pm.  We are keen to fill this role quickly and will not necessarily wait until the closing date to invite candidates for interview. Interested candidates should apply immediately.
