Westminster Arts are currently recruiting for their Remembering Together arts and dementia project for people with dementia and their family carers to enable them to share memories together.
It uses a range of arts techniques but the emphasis is on fun and socialising for everyone involved. There are break-out sessions in some of the sessions for the carers too to look at reminiscence techniques, share experiences and solutions etc., which means that they form an informal peer support group. The project ends with the couples being given artwork based on their memories, stories and photos.
Remembering Together is open to people from all 3 boroughs, and takes place 3.30 – 5.30pm for 12 weeks starting May 28.
Location: 42 Westbourne Park Rd, W2 5PH. Tube: Royal Oak. Buses 7,18,23,27, 36.
Refreshments are provided.
