Lonely? You are not alone

Good Company is organising a support group for people to share their experiences of overcoming loneliness.

It will be a place to be listened to and get support from like-minded people.

Their first event in Fulham is from 4 – 5.30pm on Sunday 26th March at the Community Centre, 70 Rosaline Road, SW6 7QT.

Carers Network is now running a new Bereaved Carers Support Group, aimed at:

  1. Bereaved Carers living in Westminster or Hammersmith & Fulham and
  2. Bereaved Carers of someone who was living in Westminster or Hammersmith & Fulham

The group will be meeting at Bishop Creighton House, 374 – 380 Lillie Road, SW6 7PH

WHEN: Thursday April 21 2016, and then on every 3rd Thursday of the month, running from 2.00pm – 4.00pm.

This is an informal peer support group offering a confidential and safe environment where bereaved carers can:

  • Feel comfortable sharing, crying and talking
  • Explore their grief, support each other, learn and share coping skills
  • Explore self-awareness, find friendship and a sense of community
  • Laugh with gusto and without guilt

Adfam’s new peer support group for older people affected by a loved one’s drug, medication or alcohol use meets for the first time on Thursday 30 April, 12.30 – 4pm at AGE UK London, 21 Saint George’s Road, London SE1 6ES (on the corner of Oswin St). The office is approximately two minutes from Elephant and Castle underground station.

The session will comprise of lunch, a facilitated peer support session, followed by a mindfulness session. All travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Adfam know from consultation that this group experiences a high level of need on this issue, and that affected individuals value peer support.
